Robert E Carmean, age 89, of Grove City, Ohio passed away at home on Sunday February 17, 2013. He was born in Columbus, Ohio on November 2, 1923 to the late Milton and Patronella Carmean. Also preceded in death by his loving wife Mary “Patty” of 56 years, infant daughter Regina Carmean, sisters Mildred Carmean and Helen Bradford, Grandson Lucas J. Carmean, and Great Granddaughter Logann Marie Toms. Robert proudly served as a Marine during WW II and was a member of The American Legion Post 0164 for 21 years. Retired from New York Central, Penn Central, and Conrail Railroad after 37 years of service. Robert is survived by children Daniel (Maureen) Carmean, Pamela (Robert) Toms, Robert (Janette) Carmean, Michael (Sharlene) Carmean, Timothy Carmean, and Barbara (Jeffrey) Johnson, 13 grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren, many nieces, nephews and friends. Robert loved spending time with his children and grandchildren. He also was an avid fishermen and hunter. He was an active member of Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church, Grove City, Ohio for 45 years. Friends may visit on Friday from 6-8 PM with a Prayer Service at 7:45 PM at THE SPENCE-MILLER FUNERAL HOME 2697 Columbus St. Grove City. Memorial Mass will be held 10:00 AM Saturday at Holy Family Church 584 W. Broad St. Columbus, with Rev. Fr. Kevin Lutz Celebrant. Inurnment will follow at St. Joseph Cemetery.
